I wave with
my hand,
but he
ignores me.
So I curl
my fingers,
make a fist
and punch
the wall.
The pain
is so
excruciating
I stifle
my cries
with
my fist.

33-word Trifecta challenge: Give us 33 words (exactly) that tell us three different uses for one object.
p.s. Lumdog – this is fiction ツ
Yeah, this pretty much rocks. Along with the pics. Perfect! I’m still mulling over my choices while baking peach cobbler….
Takes one to know you, and since YOU rock you can call it out when something rocks. Or something like that. Peach cobbler hunh? Mmmmmm.
Very clever take on the prompt and nice poem. Maybe, instead of punching the wall, it would be less painful if you just extended your middle finger. Just a thought!
Sorry, I didn’t see your little note to me after the poem. Very cute. Even though I hadn’t seen the note, after yesterday’s trauma, I assumed this was fiction.
I ran out of reply options on the other post. And I totally agree – the boxers is a true blogger image (what do you think I’m sitting in right now?) and it’s an inside joke between Leo and I… But they’re usually dirty in our jokes!
It figures
BTW, thanks for your kind words on the earlier post. That means a lot coming from a blogging pro and very good writer. You’re really funny too!
Me? A pro? Cool! Can I print this comment and zap it out with my resume?
Yea. Sure. But first, it would be better if I create a new blog and call it…let’s see, oh, I’ve got it! I’ll call it the New York Times Blog. Then, I’ll re-send my comments from that site.
The pictures really complete it.
It does, doesn’t it? I find my stories always need images. Or maybe it’s just that I lack the needed confidence to offer my stories with images. Not sure.
I thought of hands too. Nicely done!
P.S. I would have been cool with non-fiction here.
Hands are good multi use objects, they do so much!
Good choice. Hands can do so much. I like the idea of the finger instead of punching the wall also.
The pictures make it so perfect. I love the fist in mouth approach.
Oh the fun I have while I’m all by my lonesome self… Thanks!
LOL, love the PS…
Oh my, this is creative.
I’m glad this was fiction
(Ouch!)
The collage is perfection, and I’m impressed you can get that much of your fist into your mouth.
You didn’t hear the “snap” it made… The sacrifices I make for my stories!
There have been times when punching a wall was how I felt but have never done it, to scare it would hurt…………..lol
This is great. I agree with everyone else, the photos really make it
the pictures and the P.S. are my favorite parts.
Marie, this was the most creative response. You did great.
Yes, those are interesting uses for a fist. Well done!
Hands, fingers, toes, you could have went the whole body with this. Terrific idea.

Cute take on the prompt. I say that because you said it’s fiction. =) Nice illustration, too!
cool take on the prompt and awesome poem
Love the pictures. I also love Lumdog’s suggestion about the finger.
Thanks for linking up.
This is very clever! Love it!

haha, i have to say, i’ve felt like doing that a few times in my life. nice take on the prompt. (:
my wife would say something to the affect of ‘that is what you get for being impatient’…at which point i would bite my knuckles harder…ha….nice…
Excellent use of hands and pics! Thank goodness no broken bones. I’ve seen that happen before.
That’s fantastic… Almost as if you were working to a picture prompt.x
Very clever and loved the pics.
Love this.
Clever, fresh and original! Loved it!
